英国環境庁（Environment Agency）によるDrax社CO2回収パイプラインに関する協議

英国ノース・ヨークシャー（North Yorkshire）のセルビー（Selby）近郊にある同国最大の発電所を所有するDrax社が、発電中に排出されるCO2の回収を望んでいる。
そのためには英国環境庁から環境許可を取得する必要があるため、同庁は協議を開始した。
2回予定されている「ドロップイン」セッションの初回は、14~17時（英国夏時間）に開催される。
Drax社は提案の下、同社発電所から英国イースト・ライディング・オブ・ヨークシャー（East Yorkshire）沿岸に位置するイージントン（Easington）までパイプラインを敷設することを希望しており、回収されたCO2は、そこから恒久的な貯留のために北海下に送られることになる。

Drax, which owns the UK’s largest power station near Selby, North Yorkshire, wants to capture carbon dioxide emitted during production of electricity.
It will need an environmental permit from the Environment Agency, which launched a consultation as a result.
The first of two “drop in” sessions is to be held between 14:00 and 17:00 BST.
Under its proposals, Drax hopes to run a pipeline from its station to Easington, on the East Yorkshire coast, where it will send the captured carbon dioxide for permanent storage under the North Sea.
