Exxonmobil社、インドネシアにおける150億ドル規模CO2回収投資の意向を改めて表明

石油・ガス大手のExxonMobil社は、インドネシアにおけるCCSと組み合わせた天然ガス開発への150億ドルに上る大規模投資のコミットメントを再度確認する意図を示した。
今週初め、米国の企業代表者とPrabowo Subiantoインドネシア大統領及びRosan Roeslaniインドネシア投資・下流化相の間で会議が行われ、ExxonMobil社の関心を改めて表明したExxonMobil Indonesia社社長のCarole Gall氏と話した。
この意向の再確認は、インドネシア西パプア（West Papua）州にあるタングー（Tangguh）液化天然ガス施設から排出されるCO2を1,500万トン隔離することを目的としたCO2回収能力を開発するという、インドネシアとbp社が2024年11月下旬に締結した70億ドル規模合意のニュースに続くものである。

Oil and gas major ExxonMobil has provided another confirmation signal of its committment to a massive $15 billion investment in developing natural gas with CCS in Indonesia.
Earlier this week a meeting between U.S. business representatives and President Prabowo Subianto and Minister of Investment and Downstream Rosan Roeslani was held, where they spoke with Carole Gall, President of ExxonMobil Indonesia who reiterated the company’s interest.
The reaffirmed intention follows news of a $7 billion agreement between Indonesia and bp in late November 2024 which will see the development of carbon capture capabilities that aim to sequester 15 million tonnes of CO2 emissions from the Tangguh liquefied natural gas facility in West Papua.
