| Thank you for your continued support of the Institute’s activities. |
| The Global CCS Institute Japan Office is pleased to invite you to the “Forum on Canada-Japan Partnerships: CCUS and CDR” to be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at the Embassy of Canada to Japan.
| The forum is organized by the Embassy of Canada to Japan, in collaboration with Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) and the Trade Commissioner Service, and is co-organized by the Global CCS Institute. The event is supported by the Research Institute of Innovative Technology for the Earth (RITE) and Japan CCS Co., Ltd.
| As Canada and Japan accelerate efforts to achieve their net-zero objectives, Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS) is expected to play an increasingly important role in reducing emissions, maintaining industrial competitiveness in hard-to-abate sectors, and advancing carbon management solutions. Canada has established itself as a global leader in CCUS development, supported by world-class geological storage resources, innovative technology providers, and robust policy frameworks that encourage investment, innovation, and international collaboration.
| This forum will highlight opportunities to strengthen Canada-Japan cooperation through investment in Canada’s world-class carbon storage and CCS projects, collaborative research and development initiatives, and access to high-quality carbon removal and emissions reduction credits generated by innovative Canadian projects.
| Government representatives, industry leaders, and technology innovators from both Canada and Japan will share insights on carbon management policies, CCUS deployment, carbon dioxide removal (CDR), carbon markets, and next-generation carbon capture technologies. Participants will also have the opportunity to learn about Japanese investment and partnership activities in Canada’s rapidly growing CCUS sector.
| Following the forum, a networking reception will be held, providing attendees with the opportunity to engage directly with Canadian and Japanese experts, government officials, researchers, and business representatives active across the CCUS value chain.
| English-Japanese simultaneous interpretation will be provided throughout the event. |
| We look forward to welcoming you to this important forum. |
