Inherit社は、2025年からCDR（CO₂除去）由来のクレジットを生成するため、北欧地域のCO₂地中貯留地の利用を目指しており、既にMicrosoft社等とオフテイク契約を締結している。

住友商事株式会社が持つグローバル・ネットワーク及び信用力とInherit社のCDRノウハウを組み合わせることで、住友商事及びInherit社は今後10年間にわたって大気中から数百万トンのCO₂除去を目指す。この協力には、欧州、北米及びアジアにおいて必要となる貯留地提供者を確保することが含まれる。

Inherit aims to use CO₂ geological storage in the Nordic region to create CDR (Carbon Dioxide Removal)-derived credits from 2025 and has already signed offtake agreements with Microsoft and other partners.

By combining global network of Sumitomo Corp. and creditworthiness with Inherit’s expertise in CDR, Sumitomo Corp. and Inherit aim to remove millions of tons of CO₂ from the atmosphere over the next decade. The collaboration will involve securing necessary storage providers in Europe, North America and Asia.
