ルーマニア・クンプルング（Câmpulung）でのHolcim Romania社CCSプロジェクトが、EUイノベーション基金（EU Innovation Fund）の資金提供先に選定され、東欧初の大規模陸上CCSイニシアティブの重要な節目が刻まれた。
カーボン・ハブCPT01（Carbon Hub CPT01）として知られるこのプロジェクトは、同国アルジェシュ（Argeș）県にあるHolcim社セメント・石灰製造拠点から排出されるCO2を回収し、専用陸上貯留サイトに輸送し、恒久的に地中貯留するというものである。
詳細な助成額は明らかにされていないが、Holcim社はこの資金提供について、同社の技術とエンジニアリング能力の成熟度を明確に示すものであると述べた。プロジェクト開発は、ベルギーの鉱業会社であるCarmeuse社を含む産業コンソーシアムが担っており、同社は統合CCSバリューチェーン構築に関する専門知識を提供する。

Holcim Romania’s CCS project in Câmpulung has been selected for funding under the EU Innovation Fund, marking a significant milestone for Eastern Europe’s first large-scale onshore CCS initiative.
The project, known as Carbon Hub CPT01, will capture CO2 from Holcim’s cement and lime operations in Argeș County and transport it to a dedicated onshore storage site for permanent sequestration.
While financial details were not disclosed, Holcim said the award underscores the maturity of its technologies and engineering capabilities. The project is being developed by an industrial consortium that includes Belgian mining company Carmeuse, which will contribute expertise in establishing an integrated CCS value chain.
