The Aramis CO2 transport and storage project has entered a new phase, opening an EU-wide tender for the supply of line pipe for its planned 200-kilometer offshore pipeline.
The tender, issued by prospective investors EBN and Gasunie, covers the full offshore section that will link Rotterdam’s Maasvlakte industrial area to designated CO2 storage sites in the North Sea.
Once operational, the system is expected to transport up to 22 million tons of CO2 per year, positioning Aramis as one of Europe’s most significant backbone transport projects.
Designed to serve industrial emitters across the Netherlands and potentially neighboring countries, the pipeline forms the backbone of a broader value chain being developed by Shell and TotalEnergies.
Aramis aims to function as an open-access infrastructure platform capable of scaling with future demand, accommodating both early users and later industrial clusters seeking long-term decarbonization pathways.
