三菱造船株式会社、船上CO₂回収システム設計の承認を取得

三菱造船株式会社は、船舶から排出されるCO₂を船上で回収・貯蔵する船上CO₂回収システム（Onboard Carbon Capture and Storage system：OCCS）について、一般財団法人日本海事協会（ClassNK）から基本設計承認（Approval in Principle：AiP）を取得した。

今回AiPの対象となったOCCSは、船舶から排出される排ガスを前処理した後、CO₂を回収して液化・貯蔵するもので、船舶の脱炭素化を推進するソリューションとして注目されている。

基本設計承認（AiP）は、認証機関が対象設備の基本設計を審査し、技術要件及び関連する安全基準を満たしていることを承認したことを示す。OCCSシステムの基本設計の検査は、ClassNKが定める「船上CO₂回収貯蔵装置ガイドライン（Guidelines for Shipboard CO₂ Capture and Storage Systems）」に基づいて実施された。

The company has acquired Approval in Principle (AiP) from ClassNK for its Onboard Carbon Capture and Storage system (OCCS) developed to capture and store CO₂ emitted from ships.

The OCCS subject to the AiP captures, liquefies, and stores CO₂ after pretreatment of the exhaust gas emitted from ships. It is attracting attention as a solution to promote decarbonization of ships.

Approval in Principle (AiP) indicates that a certification body has reviewed the basic design of the subject equipment and confirmed that it meets technical requirements and relevant safety standards. The inspection of the basic design for the OCCS system was conducted in accordance with ClassNK’s “Guidelines for Shipboard CO₂ Capture and Storage Systems.”
