ノルウェー産業科学技術研究所（SINTEF）とGeniwind社、手頃な価格の沖合CO2貯留モニタリングに取り組む

ノルウェーの研究機関SINTEFとフランスのエンジニアリング企業Geniwind社の提携により、沖合CO2貯留サイトの長期モニタリングが大幅に低価格で実用的なものになる予定だ。
この構想は、ノルウェー・ベルゲン（Bergen）で開催された会議で SINTEFのPierre Cerasi氏がGeniwind社と出会い、そこで同フランス企業が、洋上風力発電のために開発された自律型海底モニタリングの概念を発表したことから具体化した。Cerasi氏はすぐに、この技術をCO2貯留に再利用する可能性を見出した。
ノルウェーの助成金CLIMIT-Demoの支援を受け、上記2つの組織は総予算僅か30万ノルウェー・クローネ（約3万ドル）の概念開発プロジェクトを立ち上げた。
SINTEF And Geniwind Work On Affordable Offshore CO2 Storage Monitoring

A partnership between Norwegian research institute SINTEF and French engineering company Geniwind is set to make long-term monitoring of offshore CO2 storage sites significantly more affordable and practical.
The idea took shape after SINTEF’s Pierre Cerasi met Geniwind at a conference in Bergen, where the French firm presented an autonomous seabed monitoring concept developed for offshore wind. Cerasi immediately saw the potential to repurpose the technology for carbon storage.
Backed by a CLIMIT Demo grant, the two organizations launched a concept development project with a total budget of only NOK 300,000 (~$30,000).
