マレーシア、国王の承認を得て2025年CCUS法を制定

マレーシアは、スルタン・イブラヒム国王（His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim）の裁可を得て、正式に2025年CO2回収・有効利用・貯留（CCUS）法（Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage Act 2025）を制定した。
第15期マレーシア議会第4会期第1回会合（First Meeting of the Fourth Session of the 15th Parliament。2月3日～3月25日開催）で承認された同法は、今日（22日）正式に議会で発表された。
Johari Abdulマレーシア代議院議長（Dewan Rakyat Speaker）は、直近の議会中、大臣の質問時間（Minister’s Question Time）の前に国王の承認を確認した。
新たに可決された同法は、CO2の回収、輸送、再利用及び長期的な貯留に関する法的枠組を確立するものである。
同枠組は、気候変動の影響を抑制しながら、経済発展の潜在的な原動力としてカーボンマネジメント部門も育成するように設計されている。

Malaysia has officially enacted the Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS) Act 2025 following royal assent from His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim.
The legislation, approved during the First Meeting of the Fourth Session of the 15th Parliament (held from February 3 to March 25), was formally announced in Parliament today.
Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul confirmed the King’s endorsement prior to the Minister’s Question Time during the latest parliamentary sitting.
The newly passed law establishes a legal framework for the capture, transport, reuse, and long-term storage of carbon dioxide.
It is designed to help curb climate change impacts while also fostering the carbon management sector as a potential driver of economic development.
