Balfour Beatty社、8億3,300万ポンド規模の英国ティーズサイド（Teesside）CO2回収プラント・プロジェクトを受注

Balfour Beatty社は、同社が目指す世界初のCCSを伴うガス火力発電所を英国ティーズサイド（Teesside）に建設する8億3,300万ポンドの契約を獲得した。
同社は、フランスのエンジニアリング企業Technip Energies社及びエネルギー機器メーカーGE Vernova社と共同で、BP社とEquinor社間の合弁事業であるネットゼロ・ティーズサイド発電（Net Zero Teesside Power）のために大規模なコンバインドサイクル・ガス火力発電所を建設する予定である。
Balfour Beatty社は、年間最大200万トンのCO2回収が見込まれる燃焼後CO2回収システムを構築する。
回収された排出ガスはその後圧縮され、沖合パイプラインに直接送り込まれ、英国東海岸クラスター（East Coast Cluster）のCO2輸送・貯留インフラを開発するために立ち上げられたBP社、Equinor社及びTotal Energies社間の合弁事業であるノーザン・エンデュランス・パートナーシップ（Northern Endurance Partnership）により北海下に貯留されることとなる。
完成後、この新しい発電所では最大742MWの低炭素電力が生産される見込みである。

Balfour Beatty has been awarded a 833m contract to build what it aims to be the worlds first gas-fired power station with CCS at Teesside.
It will work with French engineering company Technip Energies and energy equipment manufacturer GE Vernova to construct the largescale combined cycle gas-powered generation plant for Net Zero Teesside Power, a joint venture between BP and Equinor.
Balfour Beatty will build the post-combustion carbon capture system, which is expected to capture up to two million tonnes of CO2 per year.
Captured emissions will then be compressed and fed directly into the offshore pipeline, where they will be stored under the North Sea by the Northern Endurance Partnership a joint venture between BP, Equinor and Total Energies set up to develop CO2 transportation and storage infrastructure for the East Coast Cluster in the UK.
Upon completion, it is expected that the new power station will produce up to 742MW of low-carbon power.
