Saipem社は、東南アジアのインドネシア・カリムン（Karimun）にあるファブリケーション・ヤードでのファースト・スチール・カット（First Steel Cut）セレモニーに続き、bp Indonesia社のタングー（Tangguh）UCC開発の建設を正式に開始した。
同イベントには、同社幹部、bp社の代表者並びに地方及び中央政府機関の当局者が参加し、注目度の高いインドネシアのエネルギー・イニシアティブにおける重要な一歩を踏み出した。
国家戦略事業に指定されているタングーCO2回収・圧縮（Tangguh UCC）プロジェクトは、インドネシア西パプア州（Papua Barat）の天然ガス生産を拡大する予定である。
同プロジェクトには、沖合のウバダリ（Ubadari）ガス田の開発、CCUS技術設置によるガス回収増進及び新たな陸上圧縮能力の追加が含まれる。
プロジェクトの操業が開始されれば、ウバダリガス田から追加的に約3兆立方フィートの天然ガスが供給される見込みである。
契約に基づき、Saipem社は2つのウェルヘッド・プラットフォーム、CO2再圧入プラットフォーム並びに既存施設への約90キロメートル（56マイル）に及ぶパイプライン、ケーブル及び接続に関する設計、調達、建設、設置及び試運転を担うこととなる。

Saipem has officially commenced construction for bp Indonesia’s Tangguh UCC development, following a First Steel Cut ceremony at its Karimun fabrication yard in Southeast Asia.
The event brought together company executives, representatives from bp, and officials from both local and national government agencies, marking a key step forward in the high-profile Indonesian energy initiative.
The Tangguh Carbon capture and compressions (UCC) project — designated a national strategic undertaking — will expand natural gas production in Papua Barat province.
It involves developing the offshore Ubadari gas field, deploying CCUS technology to enhance gas recovery, and adding new onshore compression capacity.
Once operational, the project is expected to deliver roughly 3 trillion cubic feet of additional natural gas from the Ubadari field.
Under its contract, Saipem will handle engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning for two wellhead platforms, a CO2 reinjection platform, and about 90 kilometers (56 miles) of pipelines, cables, and connections to existing facilities.
