Helsinki-based carbon removal platform Puro.earth has secured €11 million ($12.8 million) in fresh funding, in a Series B round led by Nasdaq with additional backing from Fortum Innovation & Venturing.
The financing is aimed at bolstering the company’s infrastructure and expanding its ability to certify and support suppliers of engineered carbon removal.
“Carbon removal is evolving from innovation to infrastructure,” said Jan-Willem Bode, President of Puro.earth. “This is what our ecosystem of buyers and suppliers demands— Nasdaq and Puro.earth are well-placed to meet this need by combining financial infrastructure and climate expertise to foster innovation and accelerate the carbon market growth.”
