Söderenergi社及びAstraZeneca社、バイオエネルギー炭素除去契約を締結

スウェーデンのエネルギー供給企業Söderenergi社は、AstraZeneca社と先駆的な提携関係を結び、近々実施が予定されている同社のCCSを伴うバイオエネルギー（BECCS）施設から創出される最初の炭素除去を同製薬会社に供給すること約束した。
契約に基づき、Söderenergi社は、スウェーデン・セーデルテリエ（Södertälje）にある同社Igelstaverket熱電併給（CHP）プラントから最初に回収した生物起源CO2を、同都市で世界最大級の生産ハブを運営するAstraZenecc社に配分する。
このプロジェクトは、2030年までに年間最大50万トンのCO2を回収し、恒久的に貯留するように設計されている。
Söderenergi社は現在、回収システムの技術設計を改良している段階にあり、回収から地中貯留、認証済み炭素クレジットの発行に至る完全な炭素バリューチェーンの確立を条件として、2026年の最終投資決定を目指している。
Söderenergi And AstraZeneca Sign Bioenergy Carbon Removal Agreement

Swedish energy provider Söderenergi AB has entered into a pioneering partnership with AstraZeneca, committing to supply the pharmaceutical company with the first carbon removals generated from its upcoming bioenergy with CCS (BECCS) facility.
Under the agreement, Söderenergi will allocate the earliest volumes of captured biogenic CO2 from its Igelstaverket combined heat and power (CHP) plant in Södertälje to AstraZeneca, which operates one of its largest global production hubs in the same city.
The project is designed to capture and permanently store as much as 500,000 metric tons of CO2 annually by 2030.
Söderenergi is now in the process of refining the technical design for the capture system, with a final investment decision targeted for 2026, contingent on the establishment of a complete carbon value chain – from capture through geological storage to the issuance of certified carbon credits.
