Rio Tinto社、中国首鋼製鉄所におけるCO2回収試験のコミッショニングを行う

大手鉱業会社のRio Tinto社は月曜日（28日）、中国の鉄鋼メーカーである首鋼グループの事業拠点において、高炉ガスからCO2を回収するための試験施設のコミッショニングを行ったと述べた。
同施設は、製鉄工程で発生する高炉ガスに含まれるCO2を回収するように設計されている。
中国の首鋼京唐基地にある同施設は、毎時最大3,000m3の高炉ガスを処理でき、年間最大1万トンのCO2を回収できる。
同施設のコミッショニングは、2022年にRio Tinto社と首鋼の間で締結された、鉄鋼バリューチェーン全体のCO2排出量削減を助ける技術の研究開発に関する覚書の一環を成す。
Rio Tinto commissions carbon-capture trial at China’s Shougang steel plant

Mining major Rio Tinto said on Monday it had commissioned a trial facility to capture carbon dioxide from blast-furnace gas at Chinese steelmaker Shougang Group’s operations.
The facility is designed to capture carbon dioxide contained in blast furnace gas produced during iron-making.
The facility, located at Shougang‘s Jingtang base in China, can process up to 3 000 m3 of blast furnace gas per hour and capture up to 10 000 tons of carbon dioxide annually.
The commissioning of the facility forms part of a memorandum of understanding signed in 2022 by Rio Tinto and Shougang to research and develop technologies that could help reduce carbon emissions across the steel value chain.
