豪州、カーボンマネジメント支援プログラムの新ラウンドを発表

豪州政府は、削減が困難な産業排出及び大気中残留CO2の双方に対処するCO2マネジメント技術革新の支援を目的とした、同国のCO2回収技術（Carbon Capture Technologies：CCT）プログラムの第2ラウンドを発表した。
このイニシアティブは、国レベルでCO2排出量削減に貢献できる気候技術革新の育成を含む、同国の持続可能性戦略の一環である。
CCTプログラムは、その第1段階において、直接空気回収（DAC）及びCO2鉱物化等の技術を支援した。
同イニシアティブの第2ラウンドでは、CO2の回収・有効利用・除去が可能で、新たな低排出又はネットゼロ産業を創出する可能性を持つ、技術を活用したパイロット及び実証プロジェクトに対して助成金が提供される。
発表では、対象プロジェクトとして、排出削減が困難な部門に向けたCO2の回収及び有効利用、もしくはそのいずれか一方のための新規又は新興技術、並びに、新規又は新興のCO2除去（CDR）技術を活用するイニシアティブが列挙されている。
この公募は、特に技術系CDRソリューションの支援を目的としており、直接空気回収（CDR）、岩石風化促進（ERW）、生物起源炭素除去・貯留（BiCRS）、バイオ炭に加え、建材等の材料にCO2を隔離するソリューションのような炭酸塩化技術等が含まれる。
Australia Launches A New Round Of Its Carbon Management Support Program

The government of Australia has launched the second round of its Carbon Capture Technologies (CCT) program, aimed at supporting CO2 management innovations that address both hard-to-abate industrial emissions and residual atmospheric carbon dioxide.
This initiative is part of the country’s sustainability strategy, which includes cultivating the growth of climate innovations that can help curb CO2 emissions on a national level.
During its first phase, the CCT program supported technologies such as direct air capture (DAC) and carbon mineralization.
In its second round, the initiative will offer grants to tech-powered pilot and demonstration projects that can capture, utilize, and remove CO2, and have the potential to create new, low-emissions or net-zero industries.
As eligible projects, the announcement lists initiatives using novel or emerging technologies for carbon capture and/or utilization for hard-to-abate sectors and novel or emerging carbon dioxide removal (CDR) technologies.
The call is specifically looking to support engineered CDR solutions, such as direct air capture (CDR), enhanced rock weathering (ERW), biomass carbon removal and storage (BiCRS), biochar, and mineral carbonation technologies, such as solutions that sequester CO2 in building or other materials.
