国際エネルギー機関（International Energy Agency：IEA）の新たな報告書は、CCUSにおいて加速する機運を強調する一方、同部門の規模拡大は、より強力な資金調達及び政策枠組みにかかっていると警告している。
「Financing CCUS at Scale（大規模なCCUSに向けた資金調達）」によると、CCUSへの投資額は2020年以降15倍以上に拡大し、2025年には50億ドルを超えたという。過去2年間だけでも30件以上のプロジェクトが最終投資決定に至っており、デベロッパー及び投資家の間で信頼感が高まっていることを示している。
世界で計画されているプロジェクトもまた、近い将来における大幅な拡大を示唆している。現在、年間約5,000万トンの回収能力が稼働しているが、更なるプロジェクトが進展するにつれ、2030年までに総能力は2倍近くになると見込まれている。

A new report from the International Energy Agency (IEA) highlights accelerating momentum in CCUS, while warning that scaling the sector will depend on stronger financing and policy frameworks.
According to Financing CCUS at Scale, investment in CCUS has grown more than fifteenfold since 2020, exceeding $5 billion in 2025. Over the past two years alone, more than 30 projects have reached final investment decisions, signaling increasing confidence among developers and investors.
The global project pipeline also points to significant near-term expansion. Around 50 million tons per annum (Mtpa) of capture capacity is currently operational, with total capacity expected to nearly double by 2030 as additional projects move forward.
