アンゴラ沖で進められているAgogoプロジェクトのオペレーターは、本格稼働を始めた同プロジェクトの浮体式生産貯蔵積出設備に搭載されたCCS装置について、世界初を達成したことを主張している。

Azule Energy社によれば、これは脱炭素化における画期的な節目であり、「世界初の沖合燃焼後CO₂回収設備を意味する。我々の産業にとって真の節目であり、低炭素未来に向けた大胆な一歩である」という。

Azule社は、この成果について、技術企業のCarbon Circle社及びFPSOの所有者であるYinson Production社との提携を通じて可能となったと述べた。

Yinson社は、Agogo FPSOパイロットCCS装置が稼働を開始したことを別途確認した。

CCS milestone reached on FPSO operating offshore Angola

The operator of the Agogo project offshore Angola is claiming a world’s first from the CCS unit on the project’s floating production, storage and offloading vessel now being fully operational.

Azule Energy said it was a milestone in decarbonisation, “marking the world’s first offshore post combustion carbon dioxide capture installation. A true milestone for our industry and a bold step toward a lower carbon future”.

Azule said the achievement was made possible through it partnership with technology company Carbon Circle and Yinson Production, the owner of the FPSO.

Yinson confirmed separately the Agogo FPSO pilot CCS unit was now in operation.
