上記技術は、利用可能な余剰熱が限られており、電化へのニーズが高まっている工場に特に適しているとLinde社は述べた。同社の吸着ベースの回収技術は、セメント製造等の産業で既に利用されている。

Linde and Valmet have partnered to develop electrically driven carbon capture solutions for the pulp and paper industry, targeting emissions reductions in one of the world’s harder-to-abate industrial sectors.

The collaboration combines Linde’s carbon capture technology with Valmet’s expertise in pulp and paper mill integration. The system is designed to capture CO₂ without relying on steam or other thermal energy sources, instead using renewable electricity to power the process.

Linde said the technology is particularly suited to mills with limited excess heat availability and growing electrification needs. The company’s adsorption-based capture technology is already used in industries such as cement production.
