韓国、東南アジアにおける回収済みCO2の貯留計画を推進

韓国石油公社（Korea National Oil Corp.：KNOC社）は、東南アジアにおける国境を越えたCCSプロジェクトを加速させており、韓国産業界のための海外CO2貯留能力の確保に向けた重要な一歩を踏み出している。
日曜日（12日）のKNOC社の発表によると、同公社は最近、東南アジアにおける沖合CCS研究プロジェクトの一環として、貯留層開発シミュレーション調査に関する国際入札を開始したという。
同調査は、東南アジアの国営石油会社と協力して実施され、老朽化した油田にCO2を貯留する実現可能性を評価するものである。
現代建設株式会社が同プロジェクトを主導している。
KNOC社は、契約内容には2つの老朽化した石油・ガス田の貯留能力評価に加え、同貯留サイトの長期的な実行可能性及び安全性を評価するためのCO2圧入シミュレーションが含まれることになると述べた。
Korea advances plan to store captured carbon in Southeast Asia

The Korea National Oil Corp. (KNOC) is accelerating a cross-border carbon capture and storage (CCS) project in Southeast Asia, marking a significant step toward securing overseas carbon storage capacity for Korean industries.
According to KNOC on Sunday, the company recently launched an international tender for a reservoir development simulation study as part of its offshore CCS research project in Southeast Asia.
The study is being conducted in cooperation with a state-owned oil company in Southeast Asia and will evaluate the feasibility of storing carbon dioxide in depleted oil fields.
Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co. is leading the project.
KNOC said the contract will cover storage capacity assessments for two depleted oil and gas fields, as well as carbon dioxide injection simulations to evaluate the long-term viability and safety of the storage sites.
