Viking CCS開発資金、承認される

Harbour Energy社は、英国政府によるViking CCSプロジェクトの開発資金承認を歓迎し、プロジェクトの準備状況及び手頃な価格を前提としながら、現議会期間中に同プロジェクトを最終投資決定（FID）に向けて前進させる上で重要な節目となったと述べた。
同資金は、Harbour Energy社が政府、規制当局及びその他の利害関係者との協力を継続する中、プロジェクト推進に必要となる追加の技術的・商業的取り組みを支援することとなる。
Harbour Energy社のグローバルCCS（Global CCS）担当執行副社長であるGraeme Davies氏は、今回の資金承認は、Viking CCSプロジェクトに対する信頼と、英国ハンバー（Humber）地域全体における産業投資及び経済活動を牽引する同プロジェクトの潜在力に対する評価を示すものであると述べた。同氏はさらに、2025年前半の基本設計（FEED）完了及び陸上パイプライン開発同意命令（Development Consent Order）承認に続き、FIDに至るために必要な残りの手続きに関して、同社は引き続き政府と協力して取り組んでいくと付け加えた。

Harbour Energy has welcomed the UK government’s approval of development funding for the Viking CCS project, describing it as an important milestone in advancing the project toward a final investment decision (FID) during the current Parliament, subject to project readiness and affordability.
The funding will support additional technical and commercial work required to progress the project as Harbour Energy continues collaborating with the government, regulators and other stakeholders.
Graeme Davies, executive vice president of Global CCS at Harbour Energy, said the funding approval demonstrates confidence in the Viking CCS project and its potential to drive industrial investment and economic activity across the Humber region. He added that the company would continue working with the government on the remaining steps required to reach FID following the completion of front-end engineering design (FEED) and the approval of the onshore pipeline Development Consent Order earlier in 2025.
