Shearwater社、豪州海域のCO2貯留可能性を調査

ノルウェーのShearwater GeoServices社は、豪州ボナパルト堆積盆地（Bonaparte Basin）におけるCO2貯留可能性を調査するため、豪州沖合における地震探査を請け負った。同社が請け負った同盆地におけるCCS関連調査は、これで2回目となる。
三次元地震探査契約に基づき、同ノルウェー企業は、2026年第3四半期から50日間の予定で同社のSW Bly船を配備し、CO2貯留可能性評価を支援する。
Shearwater社によると、収集された地球物理学的データは、将来の圧入井の位置を絞り込み、特定するために活用されるほか、将来実施される可能性のある四次元地震探査モニタリングのベースライン探査としても活用されるという。
これは、2024年に実施された同様の調査に続き、同社がボナパルト堆積盆地で実施する2回目のCCS関連調査である。

Norwegian Shearwater GeoServices has been tasked with a seismic survey offshore Australia to explore carbon storage potential in the Bonaparte Basin, marking its second CCS-related survey in this basin.
Under the 3D seismic survey contract, the Norwegian firm will deploy its SW Bly for an expected duration of 50 days, starting in the third quarter of 2026, to support appraisal of the carbon storage potential.
The collected geophysical data will be used to high grade and define future injection well locations and serve as a baseline survey for possible future 4D seismic monitoring, Shearwater said.
This is the company’s second CCS-related survey in the Bonaparte Basin following a similar campaign in 2024.
