フィンランド経済雇用省（Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment）による正式承認が得られれば、国によるこの財政支援は、フィンランド・ラウマ（Rauma）にある同社の産業パルプ工場における設置が提案されている8,130万ドル（7,000万ユーロ）規模の生物起源CO2回収装置を後押しすることとなる。
同インフラは、パルプ工場の排出システムから直接生物起源CO2を抽出するように設計されており、年間10万トンの処理能力が見込まれている。回収された排出ガスはその後、再生可能な合成燃料に変換されることから、欧州全域における将来の産業脱炭素化イニシアティブに向けた拡張可能なテンプレートを示す。
閣僚委員会の支持は非常に重要な政治的節目となるが、政府当局者は、最終的な拘束力のある補助金決定は、国内の行政手続きの下、まだ確定していないことを強調した。
この取り組みは、産業系生物起源排出量を削減するために計上されている公的資金1億450万ドル（9,000万ユーロ）という、政府によるより広範な予算割り当ての一環を成すものである。

Nordic clean tech deployment gained momentum as Finland’s Ministerial Finance Committee gave a positive endorsement toward granting $23 million (€21 million) in government funding to forestry giant Metsä Fibre.
If officially approved by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment, the state-backed financial support will back a proposed $81.3 million (€70 million) biogenic carbon capture unit at the company’s industrial pulp facility located in Rauma.
Designed to extract biogenic carbon dioxide directly from mill exhaust systems, the infrastructure carries a planned annual capacity of 100,000 metric tons. Captured emissions will subsequently be converted into renewable electrofuels, offering a scalable template for future industrial decarbonization initiatives across Europe.
While the ministerial panel’s support marks a crucial political milestone, state officials emphasized that a final binding subsidy determination remains pending under national administrative processes.
The initiative forms part of a broader government allocation earmarking $104.5 million (€90 million) in public funding for industrial biogenic emissions abatement.
