South Pole社は、大規模炭素除去プロジェクトの資金調達実現を目指したバイヤーズクラブTechGenの立ち上げを準備中である。創設メンバーと共に2026年に開始予定であるこのプラットフォームにより、企業は資源をプールし、多様な炭素除去技術を組み合わせた長期契約を確保できるようになる。
この取り組みは、気候ファイナンスにおける最大の障壁の1つである、信頼性が高く耐久性のある炭素除去を支える市場構造の欠如を克服することを目指している。「成功させるためには、力を合わせなければならない。行動及び影響の必要性に関する我々の価値観と明確性を共有する気候変動リーダー企業のバイヤーズクラブを結成できることを誇りに思う」とSouth Pole社のCEOであるDaniel Klier氏は述べた。「炭素除去は、我々の経済及び社会の長期的安定を確実なものにするために必要不可欠である。」
South Pole社の幹部は、共同購入が各企業のリスク管理及び取引費用の削減に役立つと主張している。

South Pole is preparing to launch TechGen, a buyers’ club aimed at unlocking financing for large-scale carbon removal projects. Scheduled to begin in 2026 with founding members, the platform will allow corporations to pool resources and secure long-term contracts across a diversified mix of carbon removal technologies.
The effort targets one of the biggest hurdles in climate finance: the lack of market structures to support high-integrity, durable carbon removals. “If we need to go far, we need to go together. We are proud to convene a buyers club of climate leaders who share our ethos and clarity on the need for action and impact,” said Daniel Klier, CEO of South Pole. “Carbon removals are essential to ensure the long-term stability of our economy and society.”
South Pole executives argue that collective purchasing helps companies manage risk and lower transaction costs.
