株式会社Inpex、ボナパルト沖合CCSプロジェクト開発に向けた概念設計（Pre-FEED）を開始

株式会社Inpexは、2030年頃のCO2圧入開始を目指し、豪州北部沖合におけるボナパルトCCS（Bonaparte CCS）プロジェクトの概念設計（Pre-FEED）作業を開始した。
この動きは、主要なエンジニアリング概念の選択並びに1,800平方キロメートルに亘る三次元地震探査及び2つのCCS評価井の掘削を含む、総合的な評価作業が完了したことに続くものである。
株式会社Inpexは、ボナパルト堆積盆地に、安全且つ恒久的なCO2貯留に適した厚い遮へい層に覆われた、高品質の塩水帯水層貯留層が存在することを確認した。
2022年に立ち上げられたボナパルトCCS（Bonaparte CCS）共同事業は、TotalEnergies 社（26％）及びWoodside Energy社（21％）と共に、株式会社Inpex（53％）が主導している。
上記3社は共同で、年間1,000万トン以上のCO2を恒久的に貯留することができる施設の開発を目指している。
現在、同提携は、温室効果ガス圧入ライセンスの取得に向けて重要な一歩となる、温室効果ガス圧入貯留層認定宣言を裏付ける、貯留層評価データの詳細分析を実施している。
Inpex Advances Bonaparte Offshore CCS Project With Pre-FEED Launch

Inpex has kicked off pre-front end engineering and design (pre-FEED) work for its Bonaparte CCS project offshore northern Australia, targeting first CO2 injection around 2030.
The move follows the completion of a major engineering concept selection and a detailed appraisal program, which included 1800 square kilometers of 3D seismic surveys and drilling two appraisal wells.
Inpex confirmed the presence of a high-quality saline aquifer reservoir in the Bonaparte basin, capped by thick sealing formations — ideal conditions for safe, permanent CO2 storage.
The Bonaparte CCS joint venture, formed in 2022, is led by Inpex (53%) alongside TotalEnergies (26%) and Woodside Energy (21%).
Together, they aim to develop a facility capable of permanently storing more than 10 million metric tons of CO2 annually.
Currently, the partnership is analyzing appraisal data to support a declaration of identified greenhouse gas storage formation, a key step toward securing a greenhouse gas injection license.
