Saudi Aramco社は、Air Products Qudra社との合弁会社であるBlue Hydrogen Industrial Gases Co.社の株式の50％取得を完了した。これは去年交わされた最初の契約に続くものである。

この動きは、サウジアラビア・ジュバル工業都市（Jubail Industrial City）における低炭素水素製造を前進させる上で主要なステップであり、同王国東部州（Eastern Province）における水素ネットワークの確立を支援するものである。

BHIG社は、水素を製造する予定であり、それにはCCSプロセスを通じた、「ブルー水素」と呼ばれる天然ガス由来の低炭素水素の製造が含まれる。

Aramco社及びAir Products Qudra社が3月24日に発表した共同声明で確認されている通り、同社は、ジュバイルにおけるAramco社のCCS活動と連携して商業運転を開始する予定である。

Saudi Aramco has finalized its acquisition of a 50 percent stake in Blue Hydrogen Industrial Gases Co., a joint venture with Air Products Qudra. This follows the initial agreement made last year.

The move is a key step in advancing the production of low-carbon hydrogen in Saudi Arabia’s Jubail Industrial City, supporting the establishment of a hydrogen network in the Kingdom’s Eastern Province.

BHIG is set to produce hydrogen, including lower-carbon hydrogen derived from natural gas, known as “blue hydrogen,” through the process of CCS.

The company is expected to begin commercial operations in coordination with Aramco’s CCS activities in Jubail, as confirmed in a joint statement from Aramco and Air Products Qudra on March 24.
