豪州ダーウィン（Darwin）沖の海域で計画されている世界最大級となる可能性があるCCSプロジェクトが、豪州連邦アルバニージー労働党政府が重要プロジェクト認定（Major Project Status）を付与したことで大きな飛躍を遂げた。
この付与は、Tim Ayres豪州連邦産業・イノベーション大臣兼科学大臣（Federal Minister for Industry and Innovation and Minister for Science）が木曜日（3日）に発表したもので、同時に北部準州のSunCable社による太陽光エネルギー・プロジェクトに対する重要プロジェクト認定が更新された。
INPEX Browse E&P社が主導する共同事業であるボナパルトCCSプロジェクト（Bonaparte CCS Project）は、4月に概念設計作業を開始した。
これは、エンジニアリング概念の選択並びに、1,800平方キロメートルに亘る新たな三次元地震探査及び2本のCO2貯留評価井を含む総合的な評価作業の双方が成功裏に完了したことに続くものであった。
Carbon site’s Major Project coup

Potentially one of the world’s largest CCS projects planned in waters off the coast of Darwin has taken a giant leap forward, with the Albanese Labor government granting Major Project Status.
Federal Minister for Industry and Innovation and Minister for Science Tim Ayres made the announcement on Thursday, while at the same time renewing the Major Project Status for the Territory’s SunCable solar energy project.
The Bonaparte CCS Project, an INPEX Browse E&P-led joint venture, started preliminary front engineering and design work in April.
It followed the successful completion of both the selection of engineering concept and a comprehensive appraisal program that included 1800sq km of new 3D seismic surveying and two carbon dioxide storage appraisal wells.
