三菱、CO2除去の取り組みを加速させるため「日本CDR協議会」を設立

日本のCO2除去（CDR）能力に関する取り組みを加速させるため、株式会社三菱総合研究所と三菱商事株式会社は共同で「日本CDR協議会」を設立する。
同協議会は、日本のより広範なネットゼロ戦略の一環としてCO2除去の規模拡大に取り組む官民の利害関係者の連携ハブとなることを目指す。
9月に正式に設立されることが発表されているこの協議会は、CDR技術の開発と普及に携わる企業、研究機関及び政策立案者間の共創活動の基盤として機能することとなる。
その中核的な使命は、実用的なCDRソリューションを推進し、市場インフラを整備し、需要及び投資を促すビジネス環境を構築することにより、カーボンニュートラル社会の実現を支援することである。
Mitsubishi Launches Japan CDR Coalition To Accelerate Carbon Removal

In a move to fast-track Japan’s carbon dioxide removal (CDR) capabilities, the Japan CDR Coalition has been jointly launched by Mitsubishi Research Institute and Mitsubishi Corporation.
The coalition aims to act as a collaborative hub for public and private stakeholders working to scale carbon removal as part of Japan’s broader net-zero strategy.
Announced for official launch in September, the coalition will serve as a foundation for co-creation among businesses, research institutions, and policymakers engaged in developing and deploying CDR technologies.
Its core mission is to support the realization of a carbon-neutral society by advancing practical CDR solutions, shaping market infrastructure, and building a business environment that fosters demand and investment.
