フランス政府は、同国で最も炭素集約的な7つの産業施設における排出量削減を加速させるため、CO2回収が中心的役割を果たす16億ユーロ（約20億ドル）の支援パッケージを発表した。
フランス大統領府が発表したこの助成金は、15年間にわたり支給されることとなり、年間推定380万トンのCO2排出量を削減することが見込まれている。同政府の試算によれば、これはフランスが2030年までに達成を目指す産業部門の排出量削減の約4分の1に相当するという。
選定されたプロジェクトは、セメント、アルミニウム及び化学品生産といった分野にわたる。これらの分野では、プロセスに起因する排出量が多く、電化のみでは除去が困難となっている。

The government of France has unveiled a €1.6 billion (~$2 billion) support package aimed at accelerating emissions reductions across seven of the country’s most carbon-intensive industrial facilities, with carbon capture playing a central role.
Announced by the Élysée, the funding will be distributed over 15 years and is expected to reduce emissions by an estimated 3.8 million metric tons of CO2 annually. According to government figures, that represents roughly a quarter of the industrial emissions reductions France aims to deliver by 2030.
The selected projects span cement, aluminum and chemical production – sectors where emissions are often process-related and difficult to eliminate through electrification alone.
