最近まで、Svante社の新しいCO2回収技術にとって最大の市場は米国であった。
カナダ・ブリティッシュコロンビア州バーナビー（Burnaby）に拠点を置く上記クリーンテック企業にとって米国は依然として主要な市場であるが、トランプ米国政権によるクリーン・エネルギー政策の縮小により、今や米国におけるCCS普及規模に関する不確実性が生じている。
米国における複数のパイロット・プロジェクトでSvante社を支援してきた米国エネルギー省（U.S. Department of Energy：DOE）は、米国内のCO2回収プロジェクト向け助成金37億ドル以上を取り消した。OilPrice.comによると、同国におけるCCS資金への申請件数も「急減した」という。
Svante社の共同創業者兼事業開発担当上級副社長（co-founder and senior vice-president of business development）であるBrett Henkel氏は、米国テキサス州のDelek US Holdings社（NYSE: DK）ビッグスプリング（Big Spring）製油所プロジェクト等、Svante社が関与している米国の一部のプロジェクトは依然として進行中であると述べた。
しかし、米国における一部のプロジェクトは中止ないし一時保留となっている。
「米国で中止されたプロジェクトの数と停滞しているプロジェクトの数を見れば、CCUS業界の関係者誰もが懸念を抱く」とHenkel氏は述べた。
B.C.’s Svante eyes Alberta as next big carbon capture market

Until recently, the biggest market for Svante Inc.’s novel carbon capture technology was the United States.
It still is a major market for the Burnaby-based clean-tech company, though there is now some uncertainty about the scale of CCS deployment in the United States, thanks to a scaling back on clean energy by the Trump administration.
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)—which has sponsored Svante in a number of U.S. pilot projects—has cancelled more US$3.7 billion in grants for carbon capture projects in the United States. The number of applications for CCS funding there has also “nosedived,” according to OilPrice.com.
Brett Henkel, Svante’s co-founder and senior vice-president of business development, said some projects in the U.S. that Svante is involved in like the Delek US Holdings Inc. (NYSE: DK) Big Spring refinery project in Texas are still moving ahead.
But some projects in the U.S. have been cancelled or put on hold.
“Given the number of projects in the U.S. that have been cancelled and the number of projects that have been stalled, everyone in the CCUS industry has their concerns,” Henkel said.
