Saipem社とCapsol Technologies社が、産業規模CO2回収プロジェクトを共同開発する非独占的な協力契約を締結し、高温炭酸カリウム（Hot Potassium Carbonate：HPC）技術に基づいたソリューションに重点を置く。
この提携は、複雑なエネルギー・インフラ・プロジェクトを実現する上で、Capsol社のCO2回収技術とSaipem社の経験を組み合わせることを目指す。
両社は共同で、大規模産業排出者、特に重工業やエネルギーといった排出削減が困難な部門のCO2排出量削減を助ける統合的ソリューションを提供することを目的とする。
BECCSにおける協力を基盤に構築
この協力は、Stockholm Exergi社がスウェーデンで開発している大規模バイオエネルギーCCS（BECCS）施設で両社が既に行ってきた作業を基盤に構築される。同プロジェクトにおいて、Saipem社はエンジニアリング・調達・建設（EPC）請負業者として業務を遂行する一方、Capsol社のCO2回収技術は、生物起源CO2の回収を可能にするために導入されている。
この新たな合意を通じ、両社は、HPCに基づくCO2回収システムを大規模展開したい顧客に向けた共同提案を強化する計画である。
本提携はまた、両社がプロジェクト入札への参加を調整し、回収技術とエンジニアリングの専門知識、プロジェクト実行能力及び標準化されたモジュール式ソリューションを組み合わせることを可能にする。

Saipem and Capsol Technologies ASA have signed a non-exclusive cooperation agreement to jointly develop industrial-scale carbon capture projects, focusing on solutions based on Hot Potassium Carbonate (HPC) technology.
The partnership aims to combine Capsol’s carbon capture technology with Saipem’s experience in delivering complex energy infrastructure projects.
Together, the companies intend to offer integrated solutions designed to help large industrial emitters reduce carbon dioxide emissions, particularly in hard-to-abate sectors such as heavy industry and energy.
Building on BECCS collaboration
The collaboration builds on the companies’ existing work on the large-scale bioenergy CCS (BECCS) facility being developed by Stockholm Exergi in Sweden. In that project, Saipem serves as the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor, while Capsol’s carbon capture technology is being deployed to enable the capture of biogenic CO2.
Through the new agreement, the two companies plan to strengthen their joint offering for customers seeking to deploy HPC-based carbon capture systems at scale.
The partnership also enables them to coordinate participation in project bids and tenders, combining capture technology with engineering expertise, project execution capabilities, and standardized modular solutions.
