Svante社及びカナダ・メドウレイク部族評議会（Meadow Lake Tribal Council：MLTC）は、カナダ・サスカチュワン州におけるCCSを伴うバイオエネルギー（BECCS）プロジェクトで生成される炭素除去クレジット626,000トンを提供する長期オフテイク契約をMicrosoft社と締結した。
15年間にわたる同契約では、MLTC及びSvante社の子会社であるCarbon Alpha社が開発する共同イニシアティブ「North Star」プロジェクトから生成されるクレジットが対象となる。同施設は、地元の林業から排出されるバイオマス廃棄物を活用して再生可能エネルギーを生産するMLTCバイオエネルギー・センター（MLTC Bioenergy Centre）と同じ敷地内に設置される。
本格稼働すれば、CO2回収設備は、耐久性のある炭素除去クレジットを年間最大9万トン生成すると見込まれている。回収されたCO2は輸送され、地層内に恒久的に貯留されることで、回収から貯留まで完全に統合されたバリューチェーンが形成される。

Svante and the Meadow Lake Tribal Council (MLTC) have secured a long-term offtake agreement with Microsoft for the delivery of 626,000 tons of carbon removal credits from a bioenergy with CCS (BECCS) project in Saskatchewan.
The agreement, spanning 15 years, will see credits generated by the North Star project, a joint initiative developed through MLTC and Svante’s subsidiary, Carbon Alpha. The facility will be co-located with the MLTC Bioenergy Centre, which produces renewable power using waste biomass sourced from local forestry operations.
At full capacity, the carbon capture installation is expected to generate up to 90,000 tons of durable carbon removal credits annually. The captured CO2 will be transported and permanently stored in geological formations, forming a fully integrated value chain from capture to sequestration.
