ノルウェーのエネルギー企業であるVår Energi CCS社、Aker Solutions社及びKnutsen NYK Carbon Carriers社が、北海におけるTrudvang CCSプロジェクトで協力する。
上記3社の強みを結集することで、海洋エンジニアリング、CO2貯留開発・運営並びに海上輸送を網羅できることから、沖合での直接バッチ注入が可能となる。
MoUの下、全3社はTrudvang CO2輸送・貯留プロジェクトの強化に向けて取り組み、欧州の産業顧客向けに「堅牢で柔軟、かつ商業的な魅力がある」CO2輸送・貯留ソリューションを確立することを目指す。Knutsen NYK Carbon Carriers社は、Knutsenグループ及び日本郵船株式会社による合弁会社である。

Norway energy firms Vår Energi CCS, Aker Solutions and Knutsen NYK Carbon Carriers are teaming up on the Trudvang CCS project in the North Sea.
The trio’s combined strengths cover spanning offshore engineering, carbon dioxide storage development and operations, and marine transportation, enabling direct offshore batch injection.
Under an MoU, all three will strive to strengthen the Trudvang CO2 transportation and storage project and establish “robust, flexible, and commercially attractive” CO2 transport and storage solutions for European industrial customers. Knutsen NYK Carbon Carriers is a joint venture between the Knutsen group and Japan’s NYK Line.
