英国政府が支援するイニシアティブである水素BECCSイノベーション・プログラム（Hydrogen BECCS Innovation Programme）は、CO2回収技術と組み合わせた生物起源原料からの水素製造の開発支援を目指している。同国エネルギー安全保障・ネットゼロ省（Department for Energy Security and Net Zero：DESNZ）の発表によると、このプログラムは、2020年代から2030年代にかけて革新的なクリーンエネルギー技術の商業化を加速させることを目指した、より大規模なネットゼロ・イノベーション・ポートフォリオ（Net Zero Innovation Portfolio）の一環であったという。

The Hydrogen BECCS Innovation Programme, a government-backed initiative, aimed to support the development of hydrogen production from biogenic feedstocks combined with carbon capture technology. According to a publication from the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ), this programme was a component of the larger Net Zero Innovation Portfolio, which sought to accelerate the commercialisation of innovative clean energy technologies through the 2020s and 2030s.
The programme consisted of two phases, both of which have concluded. Phase 1, with a total budget of PS5 million, provided support for multiple projects to scope out and develop a feasible prototype demonstration project. Phase 2, which had a total budget of PS26 million, guided projects from innovation design through to the stage of innovation demonstration.
