GCCとCCS+イニシアティブ、信頼性の高いCO2回収・除去を推進

グローバル・カーボン・カウンシル（Global Carbon Council：GCC）は、信頼性の高いCO2回収・有効利用・除去・貯留方法論の策定を加速するため、CCS+イニシアティブ（CCS+ Initiative）と覚書（MoU）を締結した。
香港で開催されたIETAアジア気候サミット2026（IETA Asia Climate Summit 2026）で発表されたこの合意は、CCS+の炭素会計モデルを、拡大を続けるGCCの炭素市場エコシステムに直接統合するための枠組みを確立する。MoUは、GCC創設議長（Founding Chairman）であるYousef Alhorr博士並びにCCS+イニシアティブを代表してPascal Siegwart氏及びPaulien Veen氏によって署名された。
この協力は、規制当局の承認を条件として、DACやCO2輸送からBECCSに至るまで全てを網羅したCCS+方法論資料を、GCCプログラム内で利用できるように適応することに重点を置く。両組織はまた、産業点源におけるCO2回収による排出削減量を追跡する専用モジュールの開発可能性についても検討する。
GCC And CCS+ Initiative To Advance High-Integrity Carbon Capture & Removal

The Global Carbon Council (GCC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the CCS+ Initiative to accelerate the development of high-integrity carbon capture, utilization, removal, and storage methodologies.
Announced at the IETA Asia Climate Summit 2026 in Hong Kong, the agreement establishes a framework to integrate CCS+ carbon accounting models directly into the GCC’s expanding carbon market ecosystem. The MoU was signed by Dr. Yousef Alhorr, Founding Chairman of the GCC, alongside Pascal Siegwart and Paulien Veen representing the CCS+ Initiative.
The collaboration will focus on adapting CCS+ methodology materials, covering everything from DAC and CO2 transport to BECCS, for use within the GCC program, subject to regulatory approval. Additionally, both organizations will assess the potential development of a dedicated module designed to track emission reductions from industrial point-source carbon capture.
