Abeonaプロジェクトは、北海運河地域（North Sea Canal Area）やオランダの地域における排出削減が困難な排出事業者のためにCO₂輸送・貯留ソリューションを開発するものである。開発では、沖合インフラの再利用と新規施設を組み合わせ、回収済みCO₂を沖合の枯渇した油層に安全かつ恒久的に貯留する。

プレFEEDの一環として、Worley社は開発コンセプトを精緻化し、頑健な技術的基盤の構築、実行リスクの低減及びその後のプロジェクト段階に向けた費用見積もりの提示に重点を置く。

プロジェクトは、アムステルダム港（Port of Amsterdam）から沖合貯留サイトまでのCO₂輸送に既存のパイプラインを再利用する可能性があり、CO₂はそこで枯渇した油層に圧入される。

The Abeona project will develop a CO₂ transport and storage solution for hard-to-abate industrial emitters in the North Sea Canal Area and regions in the Netherlands. The development will use a combination of repurposed offshore infrastructure and new facilities to safely store captured CO₂ permanently in depleted reservoirs offshore.

As part of pre-FEED, Worley will refine the development concept, with a focus on establishing a robust technical foundation, reducing execution risk, and delivering cost estimates for subsequent project phases.

The project may reuse an existing pipeline to transport CO₂ from the Port of Amsterdam to offshore storage sites, where it will be injected into depleted oil reservoirs.
