ベルギー・フランダース（Flanders）地域政府は、産業CO2排出量を積極的に削減し、同地域の重工業基盤を守るため、今後10年間にわたり20億ユーロ（約23億ドル）を投じる画期的な投資パッケージを発表した。
ベルギーの同地域でこれまで実施された中で最大規模の産業支援策となる上記資金戦略は、フランダース地域の長期経済・環境政策の絶対的な中核にCCSを位置付けている。
フランダース地域政府は、投資総額の内12億ユーロ（約14億ドル）という巨額を特にCCSインフラ及びプロジェクト展開のために割り当てた。
その大部分（10億ユーロ）は、2028年に開始予定で、大いに待ち望まれている競争的な資金調達ラウンドを通じて投入されることとなる。この今後予定されているオークションは、鉄鋼製造や化学処理等、エネルギー集約型で排出削減が困難な部門を対象とする。これらの部門では、従来、電化のみでは大幅な排出削減の達成が困難であった。

The regional government of Flanders has announced a landmark €2 billion (~$2.3 billion) investment package spanning the next decade to aggressively curb industrial carbon emissions and safeguard its heavy industrial base.
Representing the largest industrial support mechanism ever launched in the Belgian region, the funding strategy places CCS at the absolute center of Flanders’ long-term economic and environmental policy.
Out of the total allocation, the Flemish government has earmarked a massive €1.2 billion (~$1.4 billion) specifically for CCS infrastructure and project deployment.
The bulk of this (€1 billion) will be channeled through a highly anticipated, competitive funding round launching in 2028. This upcoming auction will target energy-intensive, hard-to-abate sectors such as steel manufacturing and chemical processing, where deep emissions reductions are historically difficult to achieve through electrification alone.
