ERMA FIRST社、DNV社から船上CO₂回収の承認を取得

RoRo船における船上CO₂回収（Onboard Carbon Capture：OCC）に関する技術的レビュー、リスク評価及びERMA FIRST社による実現可能性調査のレビューが無事完了したことを受け、DNV社が同社にAiP（基本設計承認）を発行した。

ERMA FIRST社のCCSシステムは、排ガスからCO₂を吸収するためにアミン吸収技術及び同社独自のアミン吸収液を利用する。加熱すると、化学反応によって吸収が反転し、吸収液からCO₂が分離する。分離したCO₂はその後、液化された上で、船上で極低温環境で貯蔵される一方、再生した吸収液は再利用できることから、高効率の再生OCCプロセスを生み出す。

DNV issued an AiP to ERMA FIRST following the successful completion of a technical review, risk assessment and review of the company’s feasibility study for Onboard Carbon Capture (OCC) on RoRo vessels.

The ERMA FIRST CCS system uses amine absorption technology and a proprietary amine solvent to absorb CO₂ from flue gases. When heated, the chemical reaction that occurs reverses the absorption and separates the CO₂ from the solvent. The CO₂ that is released is subsequently liquified and stored under cryogenic conditions onboard and the regenerated solvent can be re-used, creating a highly efficient regenerative OCC process.
