日本の住友商事株式会社、アラブ首長国連邦の老朽化したガス田でCO2回収プロジェクトを検討

日本の住友商事株式会社は、同社とSharjah National Oil Corp社（SNOC社）はアラブ首長国連邦（United Arab Emirates）の老朽化したガス田でCCSプロジェクトを調査すると、火曜日（25日）に発表した。
このプロジェクトは、アラブ首長国連邦シャルジャ（Sharjah）及び近隣首長国の近くの発電所、産業プラント及びその他の排出源からCO2を回収し、数億トン以上のCO2容量を持つSNOC社の陸上ガス田に貯留するものであると、住友商事株式会社は声明の中で述べた。

Japan’s Sumitomo on Tuesday said it and Sharjah National Oil Corp (SNOC) will study a CCS project at a mature gas field in the United Arab Emirates.
The project would capture CO2 from nearby power and industrial plants and other emitters in Sharjah and neighbouring emirates and store it in SNOC’s on-shore gas field with capacity of over several hundred million tons of CO2, Sumitomo said in a statement.
