Celanese社、米国クリア・レイク（Clear Lake）施設でCO₂回収・利用事業を開始

Celanese社が、三井物産株式会社との合弁事業であるFairway Methanolの一環として、米国テキサス州クリア・レイク（Clear Lake）にある同社サイトにてCCUプロジェクトの操業を開始したことを報告した。

プロジェクトは、産業排出されるCO₂を年間18万トン回収し、低炭素メタノールを年間13万トン生産することが見込まれている。

メディアリリースによると、Celanese社は、より持続可能で循環型のソリューションに対して高まる需要に世界の顧客が応えられるよう、積極的にCCUを利用して、同社のアセチルチェーン（Acetyl Chain）及びエンジニアード・マテリアルズ（Engineered Materials）製品全体で低炭素オプションを提供するという。

Celanese Corp. reported it has begun running a CCU project at its Clear Lake, Texas, site as part of its Fairway Methanol joint venture with Mitsui & Co.

The project is expected to capture 180,000 metric tons of CO₂ industrial emissions and produce 130,000 metric tons of low-carbon methanol per year.

According to a media release, Celanese is actively leveraging CCU to offer low-carbon options across its Acetyl Chain and Engineered Materials products to help global customers meet the growing demand for more sustainable and circular solutions.
