直接空気回収会社のRepAir社及びCO₂貯留技術会社のCella社が、アフリカで革新的かつ投機的なCCS事業を立ち上げるために提携した。

RepAir社は、欧州、米国及びアフリカにおいて貯留企業とパートナーシップを培ってきた。直近では、CO₂を大気中から抽出し、in-situ鉱物固定を通じて恒久的に地中貯留するための専用バリューチェーンを創出するために、Cella 社と貯留パートナーシップを確立した。この貯留契約は、オフテイカーへの高品質CO₂クレジット販売を効率化するものであり、企業が進化するESG基準を満たし、カーボン・オフセットを管理し、ネットゼロ目標に向けて前進することを可能にする。

直接空気回収装置及びCO₂貯留施設は、ケニアの大地溝帯（Rift Valley）におけるCella社の当初の実証プロジェクトの隣に位置する。また、地熱エネルギー生産施設と共同設置されるこのプロジェクトは、再生可能エネルギー源のみで運営される予定である。

Direct Air Capture company RepAir and Cella, a carbon storage technology company, have partnered to launch an innovative CCS venture in Africa.

RepAir has been cultivating partnerships with storage firms in Europe, The US and Africa. Most recently, they’ve established a storage partnership with Cella aimed at creating dedicated value chains for extracting CO₂ from the atmosphere and permanently storing it underground through in-situ mineralisation. This storage agreement will streamline the sale of high-quality carbon credits to off-takers, enabling corporations to meet evolving ESG standards, manage offsets, and advance towards net zero goals.

The Direct Air Capture Unit and CO₂ storage facility will be located next to Cella’s initial demonstration project in the Kenyan Rift Valley, and the project, co-located with geothermal energy production, is set to operate solely on renewable energy sources.
