インド中央政府は今年度、CCU、グリーン水素の利用及びボイラーの燃料の石炭からガスへの転換に関する研究に資金提供する。水曜日（29日）に発表された正式声明によると、この資金援助は、鉄鋼部門における共通課題に取り組む研究開発プロジェクトへの資金提供計画を通じて提供されるという。同計画下のプロジェクトは、鉄鋼産業を効率的なものにすることを目指しており、効率性を向上させ、排出量を削減しながら、技術開発を奨励する。これらの研究開発プロジェクトの提案は、学術機関、研究所及び鉄鋼会社の共同作業という形で行われる。これらの提案は、溶融スラグを1,500℃から常温まで冷却する際、高炉の熱損失を減少させるのに役立つ可能性がある。CO2を回収し、利用することによってCO2排出量を、また、石炭を燃料とするボイラーを、ガスを燃料とするものに転換することで有害物質の排出量をそれぞれ削減することも、研究される予定である。
Govt to Support Studies on Carbon Capture, Green H2

The Central Government will fund research on carbon capture and utilisation, use of green hydrogen and converting a coal-based boiler to a gas-based during the current fiscal. This financial support will come through a scheme for funding research and development projects to address common issues of the iron & steel sector, an official statement said Wednesday. Projects under the scheme aim to make the steel industry efficient by encouraging the development of technology while increasing efficiency and reducing emissions. These R&D project proposals will come in joint collaborative mode from academic institutions, research laboratories and steel companies. These proposals are likely to help reduce heat loss in the blast furnace, when molten slag is cooled from 1500 C to ambient temperature. Reducing CO2 emissions by capturing carbon and utilisation and reducing hazardous emissions by converting coal-based boilers to a gas-based one is also expected to be studied.
